Tie Dye

On the last evening before Diana and Teresa left Bwiam, we made one more trip to see the women’s group in Kankuntu.  We went to see them make tie dye fabric, which they make to sell locally.  The village imam’s wife is the tie dye master, so we went to her compound to watch the process.

We were unsure of how it would turn out when it was a puddle of dye and fabric on the ground...

    Hey guys,
Looks like you are all having a great time there! I’m sooooo jealous…..and Diana must have just loved it on your trip down to the wildlife reserve to see all those beautiful birdies! Also, if there is a phone number where I can reach you guys, could you post it or send it across to badri@gwu.edu? Thanks. Trust all else is well.
On my end, things are fine. Doing more research, writing and back to teaching (Orgo Labs!) this semester. As of now, I think I will be up in Boston this summer as well, working with Tom and the folks at NEU and look forward to hanging out when you all get back. Makwei seems to be doing fine. I check on him a couple of times a week. He seems to be working hard and is doing just fine. I do wish he’d take the occasional break to hang out and walk around the city, but seems to turn down or postpone all my requests…. :) In any case, all’s well. Do take care and have fun while it lasts!

    much love and hugs,
    Bads.

    Hey kids!!

We are missing you already. Thank you again for all the wonderful support you gave us during our short stay in The Gambia. We really wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much as we did without the two of you there!! You guys are the best! Take care and please keep in touch. If there is ever anything we can do for you, don’t hesitate to ask!

    Lots of love & support,
    Jules and Zeke
